Modern Mid Cent Oasis - Before and After Interior Design

Hello Beautiful Souls! I am coming in hot with a recent client project. This bedroom was so fun to create! From dark and gloomy to a bright and airy oasis this room surely made my client happy.

When entering my client’s home I like to see where their state of mind is. Why they decided to choose the colors, what elements speak to them and what do they want to feel next.

BEFORE

THE ELEMENTS

COLOR

I could tell that she liked black, but when working with a small space you want to avoid using dark colors. This will make the room look and feel smaller. In return, your mind will be cluttered. The space you are in needs to be an environment where your mind can wander.

If black speaks to you use it as an accent color. I incorporated black through the furniture pieces and the accents.

ADDING PLANTS

We choose a mix of faux and real plants. Aloe Vera, eucalyptus, majestic palm and snake plants are all great for cleaning the air and removing negative energy.

I made sure to give my client a corner where she felt like she stepped into a secret garden.

TURNING THE CLOSET TO AN OFFICE

SMALL SPACES are my jam! To me, I see every wall as an opportunity to have it’s own function. I decided to turn her closet into an office space. Inside a put in a bookshelf that she can use for storage. For extra storage, I choose a desk with drawers and a large floating shelf. As for her clothes, we found a nice Ikea wardrobe that has plenty of space. And a clothing rack of the opposite end for extra space.

Adding a large mirror in front of the desk was to create an illusion that the space look larger. My favorite thing to do is placing mirrors across windows because it serves as extra lighting.

I hoped you enjoyed this project! If you have a room you would like me to fix please use the link below!
